Position Summary:
Westwood Elementary is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented Special Education Paraprofessional to support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students in grades K 5. This individual will work under the direct supervision of the special education teachers and building administrator, providing instructional and behavioral support in classrooms, small group settings, and one-on-one as needed. This role plays a key part in helping students access their learning, meet IEP goals, and thrive in the general education environment when appropriate. Essential Job Functions: 29 hours per week, 8:45-11:45am Monday-Friday

- Provide instructional support to students with disabilities under the direction of special education teachers
- Implement accommodations, modifications, and individualized behavior and academic plans
- Support students in both general education and special education settings
- Assist with classroom management, transitions, and organization
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
- Foster a supportive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students
- Maintain confidentiality and follow district and legal guidelines regarding student information
- Experience working with children, especially those with special needs, is highly desirable
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and flexible in dynamic situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
