About Spivey Services Spivey Services is a leading provider of traffic safety and sanitation solutions in Virginia, offering traffic control, equipment rentals, and portable sanitation services—including restroom/shower trailers, hand-wash stations, and toilet accessories. Position Overview As a Traffic Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and effective setup, maintenance, and takedown of work zones in accordance with the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual (VWAPM) and client specifications. You will supervise a crew in the field, coordinate job readiness, maintain accurate reports, and ensure the work zone protects both workers and the traveling public. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee traffic control crews in setting up, monitoring, and removing work zones Ensure all operations meet VWAPM and project-specific standards Drive and operate non-CDL flatbed or cone trucks (18’–24’) as needed Communicate with contractors, clients, and company leadership regarding daily site operations Document job site activity, crew attendance, and safety concerns Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle, equipment, and materials Respond to emergencies and adjust traffic control setups in real time Coach and train crew members on best practices and job expectations Foster a positive, safety-focused environment on every project Represent Spivey Services with professionalism and respect in the field Qualifications Required: Must have Valid Virginia Driver’s License Must have at least two (2) years of field experience in traffic control or construction Must have strong understanding of basic traffic control principles and safety procedures Must have experience driving larger trucks (18’–24’)—CDL not required Must demonstrate the ability to lead small teams in the field with professionalism and urgency Must be able to work day or night shifts as assigned Must be able to pass background check and drug screen Must be able to lift fifty (50)+ lbs and perform strenuous outdoor tasks Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and load equipment throughout shift Must be able to travel to and from multiple job sites within the region Must be available for nights, weekends, and emergency response deployments Preferred: American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Certification (Flagger or Traffic Control Supervisor) Occupational Safety Health Association (OSHA) 10 or 30 Previous leadership or crew chief experience Strong communication and reporting skills Ability to interpret and implement traffic control plans What We Offer: Weekly Pay Every Friday Paid Training/ATSSA Certifications Night Differential and Overtime Opportunities Referral Bonuses Paid Holidays after 6 months Paid Time-Off (Vacation and Sick) Health, HSA, Dental, & Vision Insurance after 60 days Life & AD&D, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability after 60 days 401(k) with Company Match: Eligibility after 3 months; age 18+ Signing Bonus We offer a signing bonus of $1,000.00, payable after 90 days of employment.
