Job Title: Shop Laborer Job Description

The shop laborer assembles vacuum-formed plastic and composite parts, finishes machined and formed components, and supports general shop operations in a production facility. This role follows detailed work instructions and quality standards to ensure all products meet aerospace requirements while contributing to a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.

Responsibilities

• Assemble vacuum-formed plastic and composite parts according to detailed work instructions and specifications.

• Deburr and finish machined and formed components to meet required quality and dimensional standards.

• Bond and fasten parts using approved methods, materials, and tools as specified in technical documentation.

• Use general hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete production tasks.

• Assist in general shop maintenance, including cleaning work areas, organizing tools, and maintaining a tidy and safe workspace.

• Support overall shop organization by properly labeling, storing, and handling parts and materials.

• Follow established work instructions, process documentation, and quality standards to ensure compliance with aerospace requirements.

• Inspect work for accuracy, defects, and completeness, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.

• Perform a variety of production and general labor tasks as needed to support team and production goals.

• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working in a production facility environment.

Essential Skills

• Ability to use basic hand tools such as files, deburring tools, wrenches, and screwdrivers.

• Ability to use basic power tools safely and effectively in a production environment.

• Strong attention to detail when assembling, deburring, and finishing parts.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

• Willingness to learn new tasks and processes and perform a variety of duties.

• Ability to stand for extended periods while performing production work.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as required by job tasks.

• General mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment.

• Reliability and consistency in following quality and safety standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in manufacturing or aerospace (preferred but not required).

• Experience with general labor or production work in a shop or factory setting.

• Familiarity with deburring, cleaning, and finishing processes for machined or formed components.

• Experience working with vacuum-formed plastic or composite parts is a plus.

• Comfort working in a structured environment with defined work instructions and quality standards.

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic with a focus on teamwork and continuous improvement.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belgrade, MT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
