At Hexion, a global leader in thermoset resins and specialty chemicals, we're seeking highly motivated Chemical Operators to join our production team. This role is vital to producing quality resins and chemicals used in a variety of sustainable applications, including engineered wood products and industrial solutions. As a Chemical Operator, you'll play a critical role in our continuous and batch production processes. You'll operate complex manufacturing equipment, uphold rigorous safety and environmental standards, and help deliver high-quality materials that meet both customer and regulatory specifications.What You'll DoHealth, Safety & Environment (EH&S)Proactively identify and eliminate workplace hazardsAdhere to all environmental and safety policies, including use of PPE, respirators, and confined space entryIssue and monitor Safe Work, Hot Work, and Confined Space permitsParticipate in EH&S audits, training, drills, and incident investigationsMaintain excellent housekeeping and emergency preparedness standardsProduction OperationsOperate, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment and control systemsBlend tanks, load/unload raw materials and finished productsPerform SAP transactions for inventory, production tracking, maintenance notificationsFollow SOPs to meet production goals and product specificationsConduct routine maintenance and assist in shutdown/startup proceduresContribute to root cause analyses and process improvement initiativesQuality AssurancePerform in-process sampling and lab analysisEnsure lab safety protocols are followedRecord batch data and maintain quality documentationParticipate in corrective actions for off-spec materialsTeam CollaborationCommunicate effectively across shifts and departmentsWork within cross-functional teams to maintain uptime, safety, and qualityContribute to a positive team environment through collaboration and continuous improvementMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED2+ years of experience in an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environment strongly preferredMechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot equipmentFamiliarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)Strong oral and written communication skillsAbility to read technical documents, schematics, and operating proceduresWillingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtimeMust meet physical requirements including lifting up to 55 lbs, frequent climbing, respirator use, confined space entry, fit for duty, fitness capable for role, plantPreferred QualificationsExperience in chemical manufacturing, forklift operationFamiliarity with SAPVocational or post-secondary technical educationWhat We OfferHealthcare from Day One: Medical, dental, vision, and parental leave401(k) with MatchIncentive Bonus Potential: Up to $6K annuallyPaid Time Off: 3 weeks vacation to start + 16 hours of volunteer timeIncludes 14 Paid Holidays per Year, +1 Floating HolidayOngoing Training & DevelopmentBe Part of Something Bigger Join Hexion and become part of a company that is powering innovation through chemistry to make the world safer, cleaner, and more sustainable.
