Key Responsibilities

• Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, arterial puncture, and pulmonary function studies
• Conduct 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition, and perform routine review of patient chest x-rays
• Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines, and insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope
• Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate effectively with attending and pulmonary physicians and participate in shift-to-shift handoff communication

Required Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment
• Ability to perform arterial puncture and interpret results to assess ventilation efficiency
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and float within the market as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing procedures including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
• Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage and similar chest drainage devices
• Experience in a float or multi-site respiratory therapy role
