Location: Lancaster / Palmdale, CA Area
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

An established and growing organization is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee daily accounting operations while leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis. This position requires a hands-on finance professional who can manage essential accounting functions, provide meaningful financial insight to senior leadership, and help improve financial processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee a staff of 2 to 3 who will manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll accounting, and bank reconciliations.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and results.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Perform budget-to-actual, forecast-to-actual, and year-over-year variance analysis.
• Develop financial models to evaluate project costs, overhead, profitability, and operational performance.
• Monitor revenue, expenses, margins, cash flow, and financial KPIs.
• Prepare sales and use tax filings and support other tax compliance requirements.
• Maintain effective internal financial controls and support internal and external audits.
• Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and financial efficiency.
• Provide financial guidance and analysis to support business and operational decisions.
• Supervise and develop finance and accounting personnel, as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 3 to 5 years of financial management experience , including oversight of finance and accounting functions.
• Paycor experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing AP, AR, payroll accounting, and bank reconciliations.
• Experience preparing sales and use tax filings.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting controls, and operational financial performance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems; JD Edwards experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with senior leadership.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet established deadlines.
