Job TitleOverview of the Position:Responsible for joining, fabricating and repairing metal and any other weld able material that applies to specific processes by apply appropriate welding techniques; as well as the accuracy and quality of work performed as it relates to the welding process within the repair scope of products serviced with the authority to carry out all tasks as assigned.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Routing and blending of welds and/or cracksOperation of ovens and furnacesControl of weld wire logsManual TIG welding of parts per the GTAW-MA methodOperation of automated rotary welding machineWork with Engineers, production personnel, or others to resolve weld related issuesAnd any other duties as required by the companyEnsure adherence to Safety Rules and RegulationsEnsure high levels of housekeeping are maintained within work areaEnsure work is carried out in accordance with QHSE policyCommitment to Company ValuesOther Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of Company's Policies & ProceduresKnowledge of HS&E policy and able to interpret HS&E warningsKnowledge and Skilled in computer software (MS Office, Word, Excel and internet navigation)Knowledge of machine shop theory, shop mathematics and layout techniquesKnowledge and Skilled in use of basic power and hand toolsSkilled in Oral and Written Communication (English)Ability to read and write the English language per FAA regulationsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5Ability to work in a team environmentAbility to work under limited supervisionAbility to multi-task and prioritize to meet company deadlinesAbility to use basic measuring equipmentAbility to focus on results, even when dealing with diverse, complex tasks for different jobs and projectsAbility to perform mathematical calculations associated with repair work scopesAbility to analyze and solve repair/overhaul problemEducation / Experience Requirements:2 to 4 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (preferably in an aerospace environment) with appropriate certification. Approved to the requirement of AWS D17.1.
