Senior Data Engineer
Our client, a leading agriculture and crop solutions company, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be part of the Digital Data Platform team supporting enterprise data product teams across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective cross-functional communication, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Pay Range: 60-70/hr
What's the Job?
- Design, build, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using AWS Glue (PySpark), Apache Iceberg, and AWS data services.
- Develop and maintain Amazon Redshift data warehouse solutions, including schema design, stored procedures, materialized views, and SQL performance tuning.
- Implement data modeling, data quality validation, and governance practices to deliver reliable, analytics-ready datasets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional data product teams to onboard new data sources, establish data contracts, and support enterprise analytics.
- Troubleshoot production data pipelines and manage deployments using CI/CD, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and operational excellence.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of Data Engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, Athena, Lake Formation, S3, and Python (PySpark).
- Advanced SQL expertise, including complex queries, query optimization, dimensional data modeling, and ETL development.
- Experience with Apache Iceberg (or similar open table formats), data governance, CI/CD, GitHub, and database migration tools such as Liquibase.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality, production-ready data pipelines.
