Brookhaven Market is hiring a Full-Time Bakery Manager (onsite) for our Mokena, IL store, paying $20$23/hour. This role exists to keep our bakery running smoothly, beautifully, and deliciouslywhile you guide the team and protect the standards you already know matter. Key responsibilities include leading bakery clerks, setting production plans, managing inventory and costs, building attention-grabbing displays, supporting customers with special requests, and maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and organization. You'll also partner with store leadership on promotions and seasonal items. Required skills/qualifications: - Bakery or food service management experience (supervisory preferred) - Confident, motivating leadership and clear communication - Knowledge of baking techniques, food safety, and inventory control - Strong time management, prioritization, and detail focus - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods - Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays If you're ready to run a department you can be proud of, apply today.
You kick off by checking the case and the day's bake plan, then do quick huddles to get everyone in rhythm. Between proofing, pulling product, and keeping the floor looking sharp, you're bouncing from the bench to the sales flooranswering a cake question here, fine-tuning a display there. Midday is all about pacing: making sure the next waves are ready, product stays fresh, and the department stays tidy. As the rush hits, you keep things moving, step in where needed, and wrap up by setting the team up for tomorrow.
