About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years in CVICU/open heart experience preferred License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Strong experience in managing cardiac surgery patients - Ability to float within specialty and other related units - Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as scheduled Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Candidates must have extensive experience in CVICU and open heart procedures. This role involves caring for patients undergoing cardiac surgeries such as CABG and valve replacements. Nurses will provide immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 2:1 during the day shift. Nurses will be responsible for managing high-acuity patients post-surgery. Required skills include arterial line management, central line care, and ventilator management. Knowledge of managing patients with cardiac conditions is essential. The position also requires skill in hemodynamic monitoring and titration of cardiac drips. Travel nurses are expected to be adaptable and willing to float as needed within specialty areas. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and implementing care plans. Nurses will participate in continuous monitoring and assessment of patient conditions.
