Our client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Phlebotomist II for their Manassas, VA location. Responsibilities: The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations. Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required. Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in Day to Day Responsibilities: They will be doing order entry at the front desk, they will be processing samples, they will be drawing blood, they will be collecting payments in the front. If they know how to handle a PSC they will be able to go into any position with us. Requirements: Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc. 2+ years of experience in Phlebotomy Phlebotomy on all ages Hard sticks and needles Data Entry and processing Detail oriented and good experience.
