Registered Nurse, Maternal Fetal Medicine (Full Time, Days)

Job Overview Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating and providing individualized quality patient care based on the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Assists the Perinatologists in the assessment, planning and treatment of high‑risk pregnancies. Must be able to travel to all seven MFM locations: Allentown, Anderson, Bethlehem, Fogelsville, Monroe, Upper Perkiomen, and Grandview. Responsibilities Performs age‑appropriate initial and ongoing assessments on Antenatal Testing and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) patients. Responsible for continuity of care for patients during antenatal testing and other MFM patients. Review diagnostic results, lab reports, and health/pregnancy histories and discuss these and any clinical observations with the perinatologist when appropriate. Assist perinatologist during invasive procedures and provide post‑procedure instructions to the patient. Implement, evaluate, and document patient care interventions and effectiveness in accordance with the nursing care process. Perform clinical procedures per protocol/order. Maintain necessary inventory of supplies needed to perform antenatal testing. Participate in education of patients and MFM staff. Participate in ongoing PI activities to improve patient care. Function as a professional role model and resource person providing guidance to co‑workers. Maintain confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity and appropriately release information. Comply with Network and departmental policies regarding employee, patient and environmental safety and follow reporting requirements. Demonstrate performance improvement in Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety. Demonstrate competency in assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development, and communication appropriate to patient age. Other related duties as assigned. Physical and Sensory Requirements Sit up to 2 hours per day, 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 8 hours per day, 6 hours at a time. Walk 7 hours per day, 10 minutes at a time. Consistently lift, carry, and push objects up to 10 lbs. Occasionally lift, carry, or push objects up to 75 lbs. Transport patients weighing up to 300 lbs via wheelchair or stretcher. Frequently stoop, bend, and reach above shoulder level. Must hear normal conversation and be able to hear high and low frequencies. Must see general near, far, color, and peripheral vision. Education Graduate of a professional nursing program. Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania or seeking Pennsylvania licensure through reciprocity. Training and Experience Minimum one year experience in Maternal/Child Nursing preferred.
