About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with TalentBurst, Inc. to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Concord North, North Carolina, 28027!

Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 12-Hour Days
Schedule: 36 Hours/Week (3x12s)
Shift Time: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

• Trauma Level III

• Chest Pain Center

• Stroke Center of Excellence

• Bariatric Center of Excellence

Unit Details

• Med Surg/Telemetry Unit

• 10 beds

• Average daily census: 8 patients

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5

Patient Population

Common diagnoses include:

• Chest pain

• Syncope

• Angina

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 18 months of Med Surg/Telemetry RN experience

• First-time travelers considered, but not preferred

Certifications

• Active RN license

• BLS

• ACLS

• NIHSS (required for Resource Team)

Required Skills

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation

• Stroke care experience

• Trach care

• Peripheral IV starts

• Chest tube management

• NGT placement

• Drain/tube management:

  • Dobhoff

  • PEG tubes

  • Hemovac

  • JP drains

  • Flexiseals

  • Foley insertion/management

• PCA pumps

• Medication drip management:

  • Cardiac drips

  • Heparin

  • Blood products

  • IV fluids

Support Staff

• Supervisor

• Charge RN

• Resource RN

• Respiratory Therapy (24/7)

• Hospitalist coverage (24/7)

• IV/VAT Team

• Shared phlebotomy support

Equipment & Systems

• EMR: Epic

• IV Pumps: Alaris

• Medication Dispensing: Omnicell

Floating Requirements

Traveler must float within Region 1 facilities as needed and within scope of practice, including:

• Cabarrus

• University City

• Stanly

• Lake Norman

• Central Division

• CMC Main

• Mercy

• LCH (Peds only)

Travelers will remain on the clock and be paid for travel time between facilities if floated mid-shift.

Scheduling & Orientation

• Every other weekend required

• Travelers work 75% of holidays

• Up to 6 RTO days approved (excluding holidays)

• Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks

• Orientation includes:

  • NEO

  • 2 days departmental orientation
