We're seeking a Board Certified Anesthesiologist for a locum opportunity in Waterloo, Iowa, providing operating room coverage, call responsibilities, and perioperative patient care in a busy hospital-based practice.

No clinic responsibilities
Coverage Weeks Needed

Call Responsibilities

Night call every 3-4 days
Weekend call coverage available
Weekend call includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd call rotations
First-call provider is called in approximately 75% of the time
Practice Environment

Team of 6 Anesthesiologists and 2 CRNAs
13 Operating Rooms
Department volume of 30-50 cases daily
Epic EMR implementation completed
Collaborative physician and CRNA model
Clinical Responsibilities

Pre-operative evaluations
Intraoperative anesthesia management
Post-operative monitoring and care
General anesthesia services
Conscious sedation procedures
OB anesthesia coverage, including TOLAC cases
Pediatric anesthesia for routine ENT procedures (tonsils and adenoids)
Case Mix

No Cardiac Surgery
No Neurosurgery

Candidate Requirements

Board Certified Anesthesiologist (Board Eligible not accepted)
Active Iowa License or IMLC required
ACLS Certification required (may obtain during credentialing)
Must be available for at least 2 weeks per month
Must be available during the weeks of November 23 and December 21
COVID-19 Vaccination required
Willingness to participate in call coverage required
Clean malpractice and background history required (no settled or pending cases)
