Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: New York license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Competency in phlebotomy and placing IVs - Experience with management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Experience in blood product administration - Ability to start and maintain IVs - Familiarity with emergency medications and procedural sedation administration - Flexibility to float when required Description: We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of ER nursing experience. First-time travelers are accepted. The patient ratio in the emergency room is generally 1:5 with mixed acuity levels. RNs are required to float when census warrants it. Every other weekend is required. Nurses will work with patients of all age groups, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census is typically around 64, with approximately 145 visits per day. There are 34 rooms and 71 beds available in the unit. Staffing support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Candidates must have strong general emergency department experience, particularly with phlebotomy and IV placement. Knowledge of the Epic charting system is preferred. Candidates should be prepared to manage various patient diagnoses and special procedures in the emergency setting.
