Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Massachusetts, South Weymouth 07/08/2026 Contract Active Job Description Responsible for providing direct patient care to premature and high-risk neonates requiring intensive medical intervention. This role involves close monitoring of infant vital signs, administering medications, managing specialized equipment, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans for neonates in the NICU. Monitor and record infant vital signs, intake and output, and other critical data. Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as prescribed. Operate and manage specialized NICU equipment such as ventilators, incubators, and phototherapy units. Provide respiratory support and manage infant airways. Perform necessary diagnostic tests and procedures. Educate and support parents/families on infant care, condition, and treatment plan. Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for infant patients. Schedule / Shift Will work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current RN license in the state of practice. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on facility policy. Experience Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting. Skills Proficient in neonate assessment and care. Skilled in managing ventilators and other critical care equipment. Strong understanding of neonatal pharmacology. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment. EMR / Systems Experience with electronic health record systems.
