Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum

A professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and education using the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. Acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families while collaborating with other healthcare team members. Assists in the orientation of new personnel and participates in department committees as needed.

Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients, including evaluations of safety and educational needs.

Participate in establishing a collaborative plan of care based on assessment data in coordination with involved disciplines, ensuring effective communication of this plan.

Implement and evaluate the plan of care based on identified patient goals and desired outcomes, modifying the plan as necessary based on patient reassessment.

Complete all documentation in accordance with established standards and utilize appropriate documentation tools.

Assess the readiness of patients and their significant others to learn, implementing individualized education plans based on identified needs.

Actively participate in nursing department or unit-based initiatives, including providing in-service opportunities and volunteering for committee projects.

Provide age-appropriate care for the specific population being served as detailed by the organization.

Perform all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.

Ensure an excellent service experience for all customers by consistently demonstrating high standards of performance.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in OB, Postpartum, and/or Labor & Delivery.

Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required.
