Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse to join our team as a Resource Nurse in a general medical surgical telemetry unit. This role supports quality patient care by efficiently utilizing resources and maintaining systems that empower staff to deliver excellent care. The position offers flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily patient assignments and collaborate closely with physicians during rounds.
• Serve as a primary contact for physicians and administrative staff.
• Provide support and guidance to nursing staff, nursing assistants, monitoring technicians, and unit secretaries.
• Assist with clinical procedures and verify physician orders.
• Conduct daily quality control and equipment checks on the unit.
• Evaluate patient acuity and assist in personnel performance assessments.
• Support clinical education efforts in the absence of designated educators or preceptors.
• Engage regularly with patients and their families to ensure comfort and understanding.
• Coordinate with care coordinators, discharge planners, and nursing supervisors to optimize patient placement and care transitions.
• Implement hospital innovation initiatives and monitor staff performance related to patient satisfaction metrics.
• Maintain effective communication with leadership, physicians, and staff, utilizing mobile communication tools as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN licensure in a Compact state or the regional state required.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective organizational, teaching, and leadership capabilities.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Ability to safely handle exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.
