Job Summary: The Senior Quality Inspector Technician performs visual, mechanical, dimensional, functional, or electrical inspections of raw materials, parts, assemblies, or final products in receiving and product assembly processes. The position rotates with other Quality Inspectors/Technicians across different manufacturing areas, completes inspections, reports, and required documentation, and reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager under general supervision. Key Responsibilities Inspect parts against engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards. Perform inspections in compliance with ANSI Y14.5 Standards, Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T), or equivalent standards. Provide quality support for production on‑floor quality issues relating to PCBA assemblies, sheet metal, and other mechanical parts. Assist with aerospace and customer‑specific requirement inspections. Execute assigned QA functions in accordance with quality policy and regulatory requirements. Document product inspections using the Ametek Inspection database and procedures. Support QEs with equipment calibration, segregation, and Gage Pack software for internal tool verification. Assist with first‑article, MRB (Material Review Board), incoming inspection activities, and final product inspections with corresponding MRB transactions. Participate in new quality initiatives and continuous improvement activities. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent experience. Five years of test and inspection experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Legal right to work in the U.S. and authorized to access export‑controlled information and source code. Experience with metals, electrical, mechanical, and electro‑mechanical components and products. Proficient with mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, test equipment, and magnifying instruments. Experience with quality inspection of electronic components, systems, and mechanical parts. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, simple electronic schematics, and purchase orders (POs). Ability to create, write, and maintain processes and procedures. Ability to gather and analyze data and to multitask, prioritize, and make decisions. Desired Qualifications Previous aerospace and defense industry experience. Knowledge of power supplies and/or data acquisition systems. IPC‑610 and IPC‑620 certifications. First‑article inspection experience and familiarity with IPC‑A‑610 or equivalent standards. ERP system material‑transaction experience. Experience performing final product quality inspections. Proven ability to build credibility, trust, and support at all organizational levels.
