Sterling Engineering is hiring a CNC Manufacturing Engineer for a well-established precision machining company with more than 70 years of manufacturing excellence. This is a great opportunity to join a growing engineering team that has recently invested in advanced CNC equipment, Swiss machining technology, robotics, automation, CAD/CAM programming, and CMM inspection systems. You'll play a critical role in shaping the future of the company's manufacturing engineering function while working on complex, high-precision components for demanding industries. Key Responsibilities:

Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for high-volume production machining
Support CAD/CAM programming and manufacturing process development
Program and support INDEX Swiss, CNC lathes, multi-spindle CNC machines, and similar turning equipment
Develop machining strategies that improve productivity, quality, and cycle times
Review customer drawings, GD&T requirements, and engineering specifications
Select tooling, establish cutting parameters, and develop tooling packages
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, setup sheets, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation
Troubleshoot CNC programming, tooling, setup, production, and quality issues
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and manufacturing performance

Qualifications:

Must have 5-10+ years of strong CNC programming experience in a production machining environment
Must have substantive experience with CAD/CAM software (Esprit or similar preferred)
Needs to be able to read, edit, troubleshoot, and optimize G-code and M-code programs
Experience programming INDEX Swiss, Swiss CNC, multi-spindle CNC, CNC lathes, or similar equipment
Strong understanding of tooling selection, feeds and speeds, offsets, setup strategy, and cycle time optimization
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles
