Quality System Manager

Job Location: Frederick, MD 21703 | Position Type: Full‑Time | Education Level: 4 Year Degree | Salary Range: $90,000 – $130,000 | Travel: Up to 25% | Shift: Day – 1st Shift Position Summary Overall management, leadership, and oversight responsibility for all Quality Management System (QMS) and certifications, companywide. Responsible for ensuring that all internal and external quality objectives are achieved, involving industrial processes, materials, and products. Responsibilities Develop, implement, certify, and continuously improve the QMS systems and procedures with SAE AS91000, ISO 9001, and other applicable standards across all ACDI sites. Lead integration of processes/procedures across all current and future sites with the goal of merging certifications. Participate in evaluation of QMS systems at future acquisition targets. Ensure compliance with IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001 standards, including employee training certifications. Lead gap‑analysis and qualification processes for new QMS standards as business needs arise. Maintain and adhere to standards and methods for incoming, in‑process, and final inspection, testing and evaluation. Collaborate with the Supply Chain team for qualification of external suppliers, development and application of quality clauses, and oversight of inspection processes. Oversee internal auditing process, including training of internal auditors and ensuring audits are completed on time. Represent management during third‑party audits with BSI, customers, UL, etc. Participate in senior management meetings and strategy sessions, aligning quality department with corporate goals. Oversee completion of customer questionnaires in a timely manner. Collect, compile, analyze and report on quality data utilizing ERP system tools across all sites, driving data‑driven decision making. Conduct 3‑4 visits per year to other sites to promote corporate quality directives. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from a four‑year college or university. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality Manager role, preferably within an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company. Job Skills Prior experience with and/or implementing AS9100 program. Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001. Registered lead assessor course required or equivalent training within 6 months of employment. Excellent communication and organizational skills, professional disposition and strong managerial skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to multi‑task under tight deadlines with changing priorities. Strong initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use vision; use hands to finger, pull, lift, carry, and push up to 20 pounds. Close vision for reading and analyzing documents is required. Environment Conditions Employee frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards (chemical, mechanical, radiant energy); required to wear protective clothing such as heel straps and a lab coat.
