About the Opportunity

Congresswoman Carrie Meek spent her career crafting policy that widened the path to opportunity for Miami-Dade's most underserved communities. The Carrie Meek Foundation exists to carry that work forward outside the halls of government — through direct investment in Education, Housing, Health, and Economic Development, and through partnerships that put resources where they're needed most. The Foundation is entering a pivotal moment: with major initiatives already underway, from workforce training in aviation to community violence intervention, it needs a strategic leader who can turn vision into a fundable, measurable pipeline of programs, and who can build the donor and community relationships that sustain them. This is not a behind-the-scenes support role — it's a chance to shape how the Foundation's next chapter honors its founder' legacy, working directly with leadership to translate "legacy into action" into programs that change lives across South Florida. This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Foundation's leadership team, with accountability for strategy at the organizational level and, as the team grows, for building and leading the staff who will carry it out.

Purpose: Holds the strategic center of the organization by developing and aligning program strategy, funding strategy, and organizational priorities. This individual will serve as a key relationship-builder with community partners, program participants, volunteers, and stakeholders on behalf of the Foundation. As a member of the executive leadership team, this role also carries budget ownership for the programs and resource development function and, as the team grows, direct supervisory responsibility for program and development staff.

Key Responsibilities:

? Lead planning and execution of program strategy across Economic Development, Education, Health, and Housing, including identifying early pilots, ensuring programs are community-focused, fundable, measurable, and scalable

? Ensure alignment between organizational mission, program goals, and funding opportunities

? Develop and implement resource development strategy, including responsibility for direct fundraising, including grant pipeline, donor cultivation, and corporate partnerships

? Build and maintain high-level community partnerships and external positioning on behalf of the Foundation

? Develop narrative for grants, donors, and communications

? Measure and report program impact and effectiveness, including oversight of program evaluation priorities

? Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives and events

? Oversee marketing, social media, and external communications

? Support volunteer engagement and community outreach efforts

? Serve as a member of the Foundation's executive leadership team, contributing to organization-wide strategy beyond programs and resource development

? Present strategy, fundraising progress, and program xhyhwjd outcomes to the Board of Directors

? Develop and manage the annual budget for the programs and resource development function

? Recruit, supervise, and develop program and resource development staff as the team grows

Qualifications:

? Bachelor's degree preferred

? 10+ years of nonprofit, community engagement and program management, and proven development, fundraising, marketing, and communications experience

? Strong relationship-building and communication skills

? Strong writing, presentation, and storytelling skills

? Experience managing multiple projects and priorities

? Passion for community impact and mission-driven work

? Prior senior leadership experience, including direct supervision and development of staff

? Experience presenting to, or working directly with, a Board of Directors
