Sr. Maintenance Electrician

Our client, a leading manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Sr. Maintenance Electrician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of high-speed bottling and packaging equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime by performing preventative and reactive maintenance while supporting production in a fast-paced cGMP manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance professional with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience working on bottling or packaging machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems.
• Troubleshoot AC and DC drives and electrical control systems.
• Perform daily machine setups, adjustments, repairs, and preventative maintenance on bottle packaging and filling equipment.
• Perform quality changeovers while minimizing downtime and maintaining production efficiency.
• Execute preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance (RM) activities.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and machine circuit boards (PLC programming is not required).
• Troubleshoot HMI interfaces as needed.
• Assist with Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) activities for new equipment and tooling.
• Complete accurate maintenance documentation, work orders, and line setup sheets.
• Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
• Inspect and verify machine safety devices and guarding are functioning properly.
• Work closely with Production and Quality teams to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Follow all company safety policies, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, GMP, and cGMP requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Practical knowledge of pump repair, electric motors, gear reducers, bearings, conveyors, and power transmission systems.
• Experience maintaining bottling, filling, packaging, or other high-speed production equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery (Allen-Bradley or similar preferred). Programming experience is not required.
• Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC drives and electrical control systems.
• Experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Familiarity with cGMP, GMP, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and manufacturing safety procedures.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Experience troubleshooting HMI systems.
• Experience supporting IQ/OQ/PQ equipment validations.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, beverage, cosmetics, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis.
