Survey Instrument Operator

Instrument Operator Our Survey Practice in Raleigh, NC is looking for an Instrument Operator to join our team. This field‑based position requires regular overnight travel and support for projects local to the area. Responsibilities The Instrument Operator will perform technical tasks in the field with high accuracy and professionalism, working closely with team members, clients, and supervisors. Perform survey equipment operations for ALTA, boundary, topographic, utility, construction layout, and telecommunication surveys. Proficient in Trimble survey equipment and other basic survey field equipment. Collaborate with team members to meet project requirements according to industry standards, safety regulations, and KCI policies. Participate in cross‑training opportunities to strengthen team capabilities. Assist in simple equipment maintenance. Transport survey equipment to field sites; lift up to 50 pounds, walk extended periods, and work in varied weather conditions. Travel overnight and for extended stay projects as required. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in survey field. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license. Licenses & Certification Must be able to maintain required certifications.
