Principal Test Engineer

Plans and executes software testing across many test types including systems integration, regression, functional, API, AI, and end-to-end. Responsible for testing complex and moderately integrated systems to ensure compliance with business requirements while following Navy Federal testing standards and best practices. Writes technically complex test plans, conducts functional and technical requirement analysis, creates test cases for new or modified systems, executes tests, and collects and archives auditable test evidence. Manages software detects while working closely with the business to understand risk and prioritize defect solutioning. Ensures testing solutions incorporate AI technologies to ensure the highest possible level of efficiency. Responsible for coaching peers and team members throughout the test lifecycle. Works independently with discretion.ResponsibilitiesCreate highly complex Test Plans while following established Navy Federal Test StandardsPerform highly complex analysis of test results, and present recommendations, potential alternatives, risks, and downstream impacts to all stakeholdersEnsure clear, concise, and expert communication including progress reports, test plan and test case documentation, root-cause defect reporting, risk identification, and team impediments to facilitate an accurate understanding of testing activitiesCoordinate and perform testing of complex systems during System Integration and End-to-End testing phasesParticipate in highly complex System Development Life Cycles activities utilizing Scrum and SAFe agile best practicesParticipate in sizing and estimation for highly complex projects and changesServe as subject matter expert and mentor to peersCreate and update complex manual test cases within the approved and appropriate test tool(s)Build complex manual test cases with automation in mind by following established test management standards and best practicesExecute existing highly complex automated test scriptsUpdate highly complex automation test cases while trouble shooting errorsPerform failure analysis utilizing tools such as Xpath troubleshoot web element issuesWork with DevSecOps to develop test automation using NFCU's DevSecOps Test Automation Low Code Framework, ensuring adherence to established policies and best practices; troubleshoot more complex errors within automation scriptsDevelop test automation that meets audit traceability requirements by integrating required test artifacts into Azure DevOps and complying with DevSecOps CI/CD standardsCreate all required documentation (test results, knowledge articles, sign-off, etc.) following Navy Federal Testing Standards, tools and templatesDocument highly complex defects/bug and follow established defect/bug lifecycle procedures and policiesPerform advanced root cause analysis for identified defects/bugs, provide detailed documentation and insights to developers for solutioning Collaborate with peers, Developers, business partners and all other stakeholders to ensure business needs are communicated, documented, and satisfiedPerform analysis related to changes in policies, procedures, and products;
