RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Hybrid) - Hematology

Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Don’t miss this opportunity to join our team at WashU Department of Hematology working with a wide variety of hematologic conditions including general hematology, sickle cell, hemophilia, and clotting disorders. Our clinical teams care for patients at a wide variety of clinical locations in both IL and MO. This group consists of 11 attending physicians, 8 nurse practitioners, and a team of 14 clinical nurse coordinators. We serve patients at the following Siteman locations: Gary C Werth, North County in Florissant, South County at Hwy 55 and Butler Hill Rd, West County in Creve Coeur, and Shiloh, IL. This position will directly support providers in clinic during ambulatory clinic sessions and will perform administrative duties including patient care coordination, medication authorization, triage patient phone calls, ordering of laboratory and outpatient testing, patient education, and various Epic tasks related to patient care coordination. There is the potential for a hybrid work model upon completion of a satisfactory orientation period. As an integral member of the care team, they collaborate with other health care professionals to ensure continuity of care and coordination of a wide variety of patient care services. We are seeking an experienced RN who regularly possesses a high level of proven multitasking abilities and has astute clinical judgment as they assess, triage, and provide nursing consultation. This is a weekday, daytime position. No Weekends! No Holidays! No Call! Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; completes health history and physical examination on patients; conveys findings to physician. Coordinates patient care, orders diagnostic tests, conveys findings to physician, attends inpatient rounds, coordinates patient appointments and assists with referrals to outside sources. Assists physician and provides support with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties, including compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards and quality assurance. Acts as liaison and team leader by facilitating communication and coordination of care between patients, families and health team members; explains routines and procedures to patients and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources. Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
