Water Resources Engineer

Responsibilities Provide project engineering and task management for hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling and design; conduct research, prepare technical reports, and lead design calculations and engineering plans for detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities and other hydraulic structures. Work independently and plan, organize, and assist medium to large professional teams. Conduct water resources planning, develop formulation and concept development, and create planning documentation. Assist in water resources permitting efforts. Perform additional duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications MS degree Minimum of 3 years experience in water resources engineering projects Experience with HEC‑1, HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, GEO‑RAS and storm drain system analysis Preference given to local candidates Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent field Previous experience in water resources engineering projects Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location (e.g., PE or P.Eng) Excellent oral and written communication skills Commitment to HDR's employee‑owned culture is required Compensation and Location Fulton, MD: $83,391 - $119,130. Washington, DC: $90,972 - $129,960. Primary location: United States, Virginia, Vienna. Other locations: Washington DC, Glen Allen, Roanoke, Virginia Beach, Maryland – Fulton.
