Officers play a vital role in deterring incidents through visibility, vigilance, and proactive engagement. Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring access points, verifying identification, responding to alarms/emergencies, and maintaining detailed logs. This role requires professionalism, strong observational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.Minimum Qualifications:Must have or be able to obtain a valid security officer/guard license as required by the state licensing authorityMust have and maintain a valid, not expired, driver's license.Clean motor vehicle record (MVR)Must be at least 18 years oldMust be able to work weekends, both Saturday and SundayDuties & Responsibilities:Patrol & Surveillance • Conduct walking and vehicle patrols to identify and report safety concerns • Monitor access points; verify IDs and credentials • Monitor surveillance systems for threats or suspicious activityIncident Response & Reporting • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol • Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents • Perform routine security tasks (e.g., locking/unlocking doors)Customer Service & Policy Enforcement • Assist visitors and employees professionally • Enforce site-specific post orders and security protocols • Ensure compliance with SEI and client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking)Required Skills & Abilities:Minimum • Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments • Weekend availability • Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills • Ability to remain calm and effective in critical situations • Basic computer skills; ability to use tablets for reportingPreferred • Familiarity with Microsoft Office SuitePhysical Requirements (subject to change based on client-specific needs):• Stand/sit for at least 1 hour without break • Walk a minimum of ½ mile without stopping • Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stoppingEducation & Experience:Minimum • High School Diploma or equivalent • No prior experience requiredPreferred • 1+ years verifiable military, law enforcement, corrections or security experience • 2+ years of verifiable customer service experienceNote: Responsibilities and requirements listed are not exhaustive.
