School Registered Nurse

Located near Arlington Heights, this contract role is ideal for an RN who thrives in a school environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality care to students with specialized medical needs. You'll work closely, one-one, supporting a student who requires g-tube care, ensuring their well-being and participation in school activities.

Key qualifications:

• Current and valid RN license in Illinois
• Experience in school nursing or pediatric care strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of g-tube care, including feeding, troubleshooting, and emergency response
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and school staff
• Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Compassionate approach and a calm demeanor in the school setting

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide vigilant 1:1 nursing support to a student with g-tube needs during Fridays
• Monitor the students health status and respond efficiently to medical needs
• Administer and manage g-tube feedings and related care as prescribed
• Adapt care approach based on the students needs and relevant medical guidance
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care and communication with guardians and school personnel
• Serve as a health advocate, ensuring the student has a safe, inclusive learning experience
