About the Position

Job Title: Travel RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital ICU License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year current acute care hospital ICU experience. Description: This position involves providing critical care to patients in an intensive care unit. The unit consists of two pods with a total of 28 beds. There are typically 42 staff members including charge nurses and critical care technicians. Patient ratios are generally 1:2, but can be adjusted to 1:1 or 1:3 based on patient acuity. Common equipment utilized includes IV pumps, bedside monitors, and various therapeutic devices. Preferred qualifications include TNCC certification and experience with Meditech EMR. Typical procedures performed in the unit include neuro surgical procedures, trauma care, cardiac arrest management, respiratory arrest care, and withdrawal management. Candidates should be flexible and willing to assist the team as needed. The environment is positive and patient-centered. Staff members have a range of experience, with many having long tenure. The unit recently expanded to accommodate an increased patient load, allowing for a better care environment.
