Facilities Instrumentation & Controls Technician
About the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Facilities Instrumentation & Controls Technician to support a high-tech, advanced manufacturing environment. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and optimizing instrumentation, automation, and control systems supporting critical facility utilities and operations.
You will work with sophisticated controls technology while supporting commissioning, system upgrades, preventive maintenance, and day-to-day facility reliability.
Key ResponsibilitiesCalibrate, test, and verify pressure, temperature, humidity, flow, and level instrumentation.
Maintain and troubleshoot sensors, transmitters, actuators, control valves, positioners, and analytical instruments.
Diagnose issues involving PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, SCADA systems, control loops, interlocks, and automation hardware .
Troubleshoot industrial communication networks including Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, or similar protocols .
Support logic changes, parameter adjustments, alarm configuration, and control sequence testing.
Assist with startup, commissioning, and functional testing of new systems and equipment.
Verify signal integrity, device scaling, loop direction, control logic, and system performance.
Maintain calibration records, loop sheets, wiring diagrams, equipment records, and CMMS documentation.
Provide technical support during shutdowns, equipment upgrades, and process troubleshooting.
3+ years of instrumentation, controls, or automation maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, sensors, transmitters, control valves, and industrial networks.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop sheets, and controls documentation .
Experience using instrumentation calibration equipment.
Preferred: Instrumentation/controls certification, BMS or EPMS experience, advanced controls troubleshooting, or semiconductor/high-reliability manufacturing experience.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work at elevation or in confined spaces, and wear required PPE/respiratory protection.
