We have a strong commitment to providing the best service and most complete expertise to our customers, and we want you to come Have Fun in Our Garage!OverviewThe Staff Accountant I, reporting to the Controller, will assist in the financial reporting process with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements. The Staff Accountant I supports the accounting and finance team by performing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.ResponsibilitiesReconcile and maintain balance sheets accountsReconcile, maintain, and monitor sub-ledgers for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and InventoryMaintain financial records and supporting documentationEnsure compliance with internal policies, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and relevant regulatory standardsFixed assets and prepaid assets accountingSupport payroll processing and related accounting entries as neededAssist with month-end and year-end closing activitiesAssist with special projects and prepare ad hoc analysis and reportsQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent2+ years of progressive experience in public or private industry accountingWorking knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc)Working knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRSExperienced in reconciliationsExperienced in payroll systems and processesHigh level of proficiency in Excel using data analytical skillsDetail-oriented with analytical problem-solving skillsProven ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environmentWillingness to learn and grow in a new roleInterest in cars and car care, a plus!Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting and working on a computerAbility to occasionally lift and carry items up to 20 poundsWork EnvironmentOffice work environmentStandard business hoursBenefitsA competitive wage (DOE)Co-pay Medical, Co-pay DentalLife Insurance401(k) PlanPaid vacation days + holiday payEmployee discount planEmployee Profit Sharing PlanWork Location: On-site in Tacoma, WAJob Type: Full-timePay: $60,000-$80,000 per yearGriot's Garage is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug and Tobacco Free Employer.
