State Tax Partner

Tax Partner - State and Local TaxSeeking an experienced individual to join a well-established CPA firm as a State Tax Partner. The ideal candidate will be an expert in California state tax laws and regulations. This position offers a flexible work schedule, with the option to work from multiple office locations across California.Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for reviewing and approving a variety of income tax and sales tax returns, as well as handling tax audits. Experience with franchise and gross receipts taxes preferred.Demonstrate advanced technical skills in providing independent tax advice to clients.Manage assignments to ensure timely completion within budget and understand firm economics.Lead business development efforts related to state and local tax projects.Delegate and oversee tax research projects for accurate and efficient outcomes.Participate in recruitment and training of accounting staff members.Lead initial offers of employment and performance evaluations for accounting staff.Represent clients in tax examinations conducted by governmental authorities.Maintain knowledge of qualifications and assignments of tax staff members.Contribute to the Firm's Quality Control Document and practice development efforts.Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and committees.Qualifications10-15 years of experience in public accounting, with increasing responsibilities.Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting.CPA or JD certification required.Minimum of 40 hours of annual continuing professional education.
