Manufacturing Engineer

Payrate: $60.50 - $60.50/hr.


Summary:
This position is to support the Combustion product line by generating and maintaining CNC programs utilizing NX-CAM or other software, including multi-axis milling, grinding, and/or EDM. The role involves verifying new CNC programs, incorporating on-machine probing, and providing CNC-related support to the manufacturing engineering team.


Responsibilities:

• Generate and maintain CNC programs utilizing NX-CAM or other software.
• Verify new CNC programs prior to release on the shop floor using Vericut.
• Incorporate on-machine probing using Renishaw cycles for part and process validation.
• Create programs following standards and qualified machining parameters.
• Provide CNC-related support and operator training during new/rebuilt machine startup and process improvements.
• Provide daily operator support in CNC programming and troubleshooting on the shop floor.
• Support and implement tooling & fixturing requirements associated with CNC machine tools.
• Generate and support workstation instructions for CNC-related issues.
• Initiate and lead process improvement projects to improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Provide effective communication to appropriate team members.
• Work effectively as an individual and in a team-based environment in a matrixed organization.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while embracing and driving positive change.

Qualifications:

• Experience creating 5-axis CNC programs using a CAM system, preferably NX.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with high-level machine tool controls including sub-routine (macro), Renishaw probing routine, and variable-based programming, as well as CLM (closed loop machining).
• Significant "hands-on" background as a machinist, with the ability to personally set up and prove out complex first-piece programs.
• A track record of managing tight tolerances on large-format equipment where part deflection, work hardening, and thermal stability are critical factors.
• Extensive experience machining nickel-based superalloys common in Heavy Duty Gas Turbine or Aerospace industry.
• Strong problem-solving and organization skills, with above-average shop math skills in geometry and trigonometry.
• Experience using Vericut or other CNC verification/machine simulation software.
• Strong familiarity with multiple machine controls including Haas and Okuma.
• Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting drawing requirements.
• Ability to multi-task and productively manage multiple projects concurrently.

Skills:

• 3 years of experience with Okuma and Haas controls.
• 5 years of experience with graphical-based CAM System CNC Programming. Siemens NX CAM experience preferred and will be given priority.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $60.50 - $60.50/hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
