Physician Assistant - Otolaryngology (League City)

Job Title

To provide patient care assistance in a clinic setting in one or more specialized areas, under the supervision of a primary care physician.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from accredited Physician's Assistant program. Eligible for Texas licensure. No experience required

Job Duties:

• After completing the 12-month training program specific to the ENY specialty, the APP will primarily function as an independent clinician focused on patients with low complexity/non-surgical otolaryngologic complaints. He/she will see routine post-op patient in the clinic, thus further decompressing surgical faculty to handle new patients. The APP will also participate in coverage at the ENT/EYE specialty ED clinic at Victory Lakes. Once fully deployed the APP will have 7 independent sessions, 2 admin sessions, and 1 session with their supervising MD. Clinic locations will be League City, Texas City, and Galveston.
• Provides patient services under direct supervision and responsibility of a physician.
• Training in fundamentals of general otolaryngology independent practice.
• Elicits detailed patient histories and does complete physical examinations.
• Determines tentative diagnosis and orders appropriate laboratory tests.
• Counsels patient and family on health and disease.
• Sutures minor wounds perform other therapeutic procedures under supervision of a physician.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.
• Performs related duties and procedures as appropriate or required

Salary Range:

Actual salary commensurate with experience.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm and as needed on occasion.
