Retail Shortage Control - Part Time

Overview Join our team as a Shortage Control Associate and contribute to a secure shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service. As a Shortage Control Associate (SCA), you will support store security and the overall customer experience by monitoring entrances, exits, and high‑risk areas, reducing theft opportunities, and promoting a safe shopping environment. You will engage with customers and associates in a manner consistent with our core values, delivering a confident, friendly, and energetic greeting with eye contact and a smile with every interaction. Your discipline and awareness of surroundings, along with safety and security standards, are critical to monitoring the store throughout your shift and deterring theft, shoplifting, and other dishonest activities. You will report theft incidents or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty when identified and collaborate with store leadership to maintain a secure environment. Responsibilities Maintain a professional appearance and wear designated dress standards, radio, and earpiece. Stand at the front of the store, remaining vigilant and aware of surroundings. Greet every customer entering or exiting with a warm smile and a loud, friendly greeting to promote a sense of control and security. Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft and related activities. Possess knowledge of top shortage areas and support programs aimed at theft reduction. Effectively communicate information about theft prevention during store rallies and with the Manager on Duty. Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates, ensuring adherence to safety and security standards. Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes. Role-model safety as a top priority and address unsafe practices promptly. Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to management in a timely manner. Experience and Qualifications 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations (preferred). Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and visually monitor the store environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to review, analyze, and comprehend business trends. Positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making. Excellent communication with customers and co-workers. Strong leadership skills to foster productive business relationships. Work Schedule Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
