STEM Instructional Coach – Jalen Rose Leadership Academy Overview As a STEM Instructional Coach at Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, you will lead the implementation of the education program, coach teachers, and drive academic growth for scholars in a college‑ready environment. Key Responsibilities Ensure 100% of building teachers use the Coaching Cycle protocol by conducting weekly observations and providing actionable feedback. Review lesson plans regularly and support teachers in meeting standards‑based curriculum goals. Drive academic growth to meet 100% of projected Math and Reading progress from the beginning to the end of the year, as measured by Horizon assessment. Collaborate with the leadership team to plan and coordinate professional development informed by Coaching Cycle analytics. Foster a school culture that retains effective teachers through daily monitoring, modeling, and support of guided reading instruction during tier‑2 instructional time. Lead data‑driven conversations within Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), using benchmark and WFA data to enhance instructional practices. Minimum Qualifications All administrators or other persons whose primary responsibility is administering instructional programs or as a chief business official shall meet the certification and continuing education requirements as described in MCL 380.1246. Bachelor’s degree in the subject area or related field (Master’s degree preferred). Valid Michigan administrative certification OR demonstrated results as a building‑level leader. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate high‑school scholars and staff. Willingness to work outside regular hours and on weekends. Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback and ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Ability to work urgently in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment.
