Senior Data Architect/Data Engineer, Vice President

Salary: $162,000 - 215,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• We are looking for 8+ years of experience building production data systems, with hands-on ownership of data modeling and pipeline engineering.
• Strong SQL capability is essential, including advanced querying, execution plan analysis, and performance tuning.
• We expect experience with Snowflake and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
• We need proven expertise in analytics data modeling, including dimensional modeling, star schemas, conformed dimensions, and slowly changing dimensions.
• You should have practical experience designing and implementing ELT/ETL pipelines for both batch and near-real-time processing.
• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language used in data engineering, such as Python, Java, or Scala, is required.
• We value working knowledge of modern data engineering practices, including transformation testing, CI/CD, environment promotion, and operational monitoring.
• Strong communication skills are important, along with the ability to collaborate with domain experts and turn ambiguity into implementable data products.
• Nice-to-have experience includes dbt or similar modeling frameworks, orchestration tools such as Dagster or Prefect, streaming and event-driven data patterns, Elasticsearch or Cosmos DB integrations, data governance and observability tooling, cloud-native platforms, Terraform, and interest in financial systems, accounting, or investment technology.

• We partner with domain experts, product teams, and engineering colleagues to design canonical data models that support trusted reporting, analytics, and downstream integrations.
• We build and refine analytics-ready datasets in Snowflake, including curated layers and data marts with clear metric definitions.
• We design and develop dependable ELT and ETL pipelines across Snowflake and SQL Server for scheduled batch loads and low-latency ingestion where needed.
• We implement resilient pipeline patterns, including incremental processing, idempotent replay-safe loads, deduplication, and backfill or reprocessing approaches.
• We establish and uphold data quality and observability controls such as freshness, completeness, and accuracy checks, along with alerting, runbooks, and SLAs.
• We improve analytical performance and cost efficiency through Snowflake best practices and SQL Server performance tuning where appropriate.
• We publish curated data to downstream serving systems when required, such as search indexes and operational data stores, with clear contracts and monitoring.
• We promote best practices for documentation, lineage, schema evolution, and secure handling of sensitive data in collaboration with platform and governance partners.
