Logistics Lead: Project Materials & Freight Strategy

Operational Leadership Own end-to-end logistics operations, including but not limited to: inbound materials, outbound job site deliveries, transfers, returns, and inventory management Establish and enforce logistics standards, workflows, and best practices across the warehouse and project work cells Serve as escalation point for shipment delays, shortages, damages, and critical delivery risks Planning & Coordination Proactively plan logistics activities in coordination with project schedules to ensure material readiness Forecast and schedule inbound shipping volume and warehouse capacity needs Balance priorities across multiple projects and stakeholders Manage relationships with carriers and vendor teams, including performance evaluation and issue resolution Negotiate freight options and routing strategies to control costs and improve reliability Coordinate directly with vendors and support QA/QC teams to improve inbound material packaging, delivery sequencing, and documentation quality Financial & Process Ownership Track and analyze freight spend; identify cost‑savings opportunities Assist with customer storage tracking and monthly billing Analyze KPIs related to delivery performance, damage rates, and turnaround time Inventory & Warehouse Optimization Partner with warehouse leadership to optimize material flow, staging, storage, and jobsite readiness Own the procurement process related to facility materials Improve dock scheduling, receiving processes, and outbound consolidation Assist with inventory accuracy initiatives, material tracking and inventory management Documentation & Compliance Ensure accurate and complete shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, proof of delivery) Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and internal safety and transportation policies Experience & Qualifications 5–7 years of progressive experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or material management Demonstrated experience coordinating logistics for multiple concurrent projects Strong analytical skills with experience tracking freight costs and operational metrics Proven ability to independently solve complex logistics problems Construction, electrical, or industrial project experience strongly preferred Equal Opportunity Statement: Cleveland is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
