Entry Level Diesel & Trailer Mechanic

Job Overview Cox Fleet, headquartered in Indianapolis, is one of the largest mobile fleet maintenance companies in the United States, providing on‑site service for light, medium, and heavy‑duty trucks and trailers across a nationwide network of service centers. Training Program (FleeTec Academy) We offer a paid 5‑week full‑time training program that covers the fundamentals of diesel and trailer repair. All travel, accommodation, meals, and a stipend are provided, and you receive a salary during the course. Upon completion you are paired with a Lead Technician for hands‑on training and offered a full‑time Mobile Mechanic position. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs onsite at customer locations. Use a state‑of‑the‑art service vehicle equipped with the necessary tools. Work alongside experienced technicians to develop professional skills. Qualifications Desire to start a career as a Diesel and Trailer Technician. Willingness and ability to study hard and commit to 5 weeks away from home. High school diploma preferred but not required. Must be 21 years or older to drive company vehicles. Ability to operate an iPad for training and documentation. Background check, driving record check, pre‑employment drug testing, and a physical exam will be required. Compensation Pay Details: $16/hour (or state minimum wage, whichever is greater) + $250/week stipend the first week (taxed) After graduation from the first phase: $21/hour Additional training and pay progression opportunities available. Hourly base rate may vary within the range of $15.10 – $22.60 per hour, depending on location and experience. Benefits Minimum of 16 hours paid time off per month and seven paid holidays. Additional paid time off for bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer time, military leave, and parental leave.
