Check out our website HVAC Manufacturer Representative in Nashville TN | JJP Mechanical Reps Job Description The Estimator will review construction plans and specifications and perform detailed takeoffs and by item counts of all materials required. Based on take-off and communication with material suppliers and use of manufacturers’ pricing programs, the Estimator will prepare bids for release to mechanical contractors. This role requires atechnically-minded, process-oriented individual with attention to detail,good communication,organizationaland computer literacy skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain friendly, cooperative relations with customers, vendors, companypersonneland management. Perform other tasks or assignments as delegated by the Senior Estimator. Demonstrate the abilityto tactfullyhandledifficult situations. Anticipate problems and provide contingency plans and recommendations. Organize personalscheduleto maximize productivity and time management. Follow all Company personnel policies and procedures. Assistsinidentifyingnew work to be pursued that is consistent with the Company’s marketing strategy. Cultivates new business through existing business relationships and former customers. Preparesaccuratedetailed take-offs by item counts of all materialsrequiredfor projects assigned; generates RFI’s whereappropriate. Ensures theaccurateandtimelypreparation of assigned estimates to mechanical contractors based on take-off and communication with material suppliers and use of manufacturer’s pricing programs. Ensures that estimates are priced with an estimated gross profit consistent with the necessary profitobjectivesof the Company as communicated by Senior Management. Estimates the time and resources necessary to complete bids and communicates this information to the Senior Estimator so that the bid plan is asaccurateas possible. Follows up on open bids/proposalsin a timely manner; reviewsresultsperiodically with the Senior Estimator. Communicates withSales Personsand Customerson a daily basis. Experience and Requirements Education High school diploma 4yearswork experience in similar field or College Degree preferred Experience Ability to read blueprints and project specifications toaccomplishaccuratetake offs. Ability to prepare bid packages according to specifications. Computer skills, includingworkwith various estimating programs, Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Bluebeam (digital take offs). Experience and knowledge ofHVACindustrya plus. Previoustechnical experience or qualified training. Degree or2 yeartechnical certification preferred or equivalent experience.
