About the Position

Job Title: IMC/Tele Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Experience with post-procedural cardiac patients and management of related conditions Description: The RN will work on a unit with a total of 29 beds. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:4 on days until 2300 and 1:5-6 on nights after 2300. Common diagnoses include cardiac medical and surgical conditions such as post-cath lab patients, post-cardiac surgery patients, chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, and bradycardia. Experience is required in managing TR band compression devices and chest pain. RN duties include titration of drips, specifically Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Bumex, and Dobutamine. There is a 24/7 centralized telemetry unit monitoring all non-critical care patients. A charge RN will take a modified assignment. Nurse aides are available on the unit with ratios varying from 1:10 on days to 1:15 after 2300. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for nebulizers and inhalers, while RNs are responsible for incentive spirometry. Self-scheduling is not available, with block scheduling implemented based on unit needs. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required. Floating may be necessary based on unit census. Scrubs are not provided, and there is no designated scrub color. All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
