Description As a Buyer, you will join our talented Purchasing Department working alongside our Asset Managers (Material Planners) and Program Management Team. In this key role, you will produce a high quantity of accurate purchasing transactions. Business processes through a variety of systems, programs, and operations will keep you in sync with material demands and on target to achieve individual and team KPIs. Commodities you could procure may include, but are not limited to, Printed Circuit Boards, Cable Assemblies and Harness, various types of electronic components, custom and catalog assemblies, and Sheet Metal/Machined Parts. Ownership High performance: deliver a high volume of purchasing transactions on a daily basis Proactively and assertively negotiate with suppliers for anything from commodities to shipping terms to avoid excess cost and purchase price variance Able to keep abreast of all changes related to commodity/desk Manage Past Due deliveries, Pull-ins, Push-outs, and Cancellations on a daily basis Identifies risk parts and escalates to management Due Diligence Execute MRP actions consistent with purchasing policies Quickly resolve nonconforming material with suppliers, customers, and internal Quality and Engineering teams Work with Accounting to resolve discrepancies Reconcile open order reports Ensure system updates, such as material lead times, are accurate Prepare RFQ’s as required Support programs as assigned from Planning, Strategic Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality Reporting Guru Send automated requirements out weekly to all relevant Target Suppliers Follows through with purchasing-related workflows and metrics Reviews excess material and dispositions on a monthly basis Actions non-conforming material (MRB) on a weekly basis Skills purchase order, buyer purchasing, inventory, buying experience Top Skills Details purchase order,buyer purchasing,inventory,buying experience Additional Skills & Qualifications Cross-functional team player Task prioritization to ensure critical tasks are completed first while allowing all other activities to be completed in a timely manner Proactive; you assess what needs to be done and take the initiative to make it so Negotiation experience and comfort to negotiate with supply base with ease Communication is your middle name; you are clear in verbal communications ensuring written communications are professional, thorough, accurate, and a timely recap Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Morgan Hill, CA. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
