Job Description It’s extremely important that Army National Guard communications don’t fall into the wrong hands. As the Radio and Communications Security Repairer, you will maintain the equipment and systems that ensure Army National Guard units can communicate over secure channels. Job Duties Install and repair circuits and wiring. Calibrate and align equipment components. String overhead cables between utility poles. Repair systems, perform equipment tests, and conduct preventive maintenance checks. Use test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment; test program sets and interactive electronic technical manuals to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Take on advanced projects: train and supervise other Soldiers, test equipment, perform complex repairs, and ensure NSA‑approved components are used in communication security/controlled cryptographic item repairs. Skills You’ll Learn Communication security policy and procedure. Mechanical, electronic, and electrical principles. Preventive maintenance procedures. Communication security policies and procedures. Helpful Skills Strong attention to detail. Earn While You Learn You’ll receive paid training while learning valuable job skills. In the Army National Guard, you will train and earn a regular paycheck while qualifying for tuition assistance. Training Schedule After 10 weeks of Basic Training, you will attend Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for 16 weeks of classroom instruction, including practice with equipment. You will learn mechanical, electronic, and electrical principles, preventive maintenance procedures, and communication security policies and procedures. Benefits Paid training. A monthly paycheck.
