About the Position

Job Title: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary Nursing, Step Down, Telemetry Med/Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Current nursing license Certifications: CPR, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Extensive Cardiac experience required. Willingness to float to Medical Surgical units when necessary. Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required. Description: We are seeking an experienced RN for our Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU units. Candidates must have ICU experience. Candidates must also be willing to float down to Medical Surgical if needed. Extensive cardiac experience is required. The candidate must have a current nursing license, as well as CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act. Documents according to standards of care. Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy. Includes patient and family instruction. Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance. Utilizes clinical expertise to guide other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care. Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates issues to the appropriate chain of command. Holiday coverage may be required.
