Maintenance Mechanic I

Job Details Location: Geisinger Lewistown Hospital (GLH) Shift: Rotation (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Worker Type: Regular Exemption Status: No Job Summary Provides general carpentry and painting to maintain, repair and renovate the physical structure. Provides basic HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing services to efficiently operate facilities and equipment. Tests, monitors and operates equipment/chemicals for water supply. Removes snow using various types of equipment. Provides assistance to maintain grounds, as required. Job Duties Perform general carpentry for alterations and renovations. Perform masonry tasks when necessary. Install drywall, floor, and ceiling systems. Prepare surfaces with joint compound, caulking, and sanding. Remove hardware and other items. Place masking tape and drop cloths to protect surfaces. Set up scaffolds and ladders for safe usage. Apply paints, stains, and varnishes using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. Return finished area to working order. Use and maintain equipment for snow removal, including truck‑mounted plows, tractor‑mounted plows, snow throwers, shovels, and brooms. Check fluid levels and perform minor equipment repairs when necessary. Perform preventive maintenance and equipment checks on fire extinguishers, air filters, belts, and lubrication of rotating equipment. Repair mechanical, plumbing, electrical equipment and general building components. Install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures, domestic water piping, steam piping, valves, radiators, sanitary drains, sewers, holding tanks, and sewage pumps. Install, maintain, and repair electrical conduits, raceways, wires, cables, and circuit breakers for the supply of electrical power. Run computer and other non‑protected cables. Replace light bulbs and lamps as required. Position Details Keep our hospital running safely and smoothly!
