Sr. Operations Manager

Job ID: 3032847 | Amazon.com Services LLC Overview We are looking for a Sr. Operations Manager to lead and manage all budgeting, people development, and operational objectives for a fulfillment center (FC). The Sr. Operations Manager is responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of either inbound or outbound operations, and for driving improvement initiatives in the functional area. Responsibilities Drive creation of quality, process change, and Lean initiatives to exceed the business plan. Set and clarify performance expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold managers accountable. Leverage the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, integrating them into improvement plans for the functional area. Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and across the network. Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives. Physical Requirements Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each. Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head. Walk in the FC and around the area with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length. Stand and/or walk an average of 5 miles daily. Operate in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air‑conditioned. Access all areas of the building (ascending/descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation). Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years Amazon experience. 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment. Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques. Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination. Preferred Qualifications Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field and MBA preferred. Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons. Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations. Interest in long‑term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
