Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our MedSurg/PCU unit. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in all areas of nursing and be flexible in assisting different departments as required. An active Washington RN license is a must. Candidates should be prepared to work through the upcoming holiday season, with minimal requests for time off.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient and significant others' needs for education and provide resources using appropriate modalities.
• Ensure patient safety through preventative measures, including the correct application of side rails and restraints.
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment in the PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas according to established protocols.
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures, adhering to standard precautions at all times.
• Maintain accurate and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and responses during each shift.
• Effectively communicate with other departments and report critical lab values to physicians in a timely manner.
• Restock and maintain emergency carts and general supplies as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in Washington State.
• Experience in MedSurg and PCU settings.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to varying departmental needs.
