Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:00 PM - 06:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification, GRH CPI/MOAB Must-Have: - EPIC EMR Experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months - Self-study of telemetry strips upon acceptance - Passing of a Basic Dysrhythmia test during the first week of assignment Description: These positions will provide support for the unit during surge. The traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A Basic Dysrhythmia test out will be given during the first week of assignment. This must be passed in order to work in the telemetry/medical-surgical unit. The role delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Collaboration with other health team members is essential. Effective interaction with patients and significant others is required while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. The position involves providing high-quality care to the following patient populations: geriatric, medical-surgical, adult, and telemetry. An estimated work week is 36 hours with the possibility of additional shifts. Every other holiday rotation is required. The traveler may be required to float to other campuses as needed. While not part of a regular call rotation, the traveler may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census. If called in, the traveler is expected to arrive on-site within one hour. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. Floating is required for any non-critical care inpatient units, including to the emergency department if there are boarded patients.
