The Companion will provide home management and supportive services in accordance with agency policies and procedures under the direction of Clinical Supervisor and/or Case Manager.Key ContributionsPerforms duties described on the care plan and documents on activity report to reflect the care plan is being followed.Provides companionship for the patient along with casual, cosmetic assistance such as brushing client's hair, assisting with make-up, filing and polishing nails.Provides escort services such as taking the patient to the doctor.Provides light housekeeping tasks such as preparation of a meal or laundering the patient's personal garments, mending, changing bed linens and cleaning cupboards and silver while maintaining a safe, clean environment.Reports any unusual incidents or changes in the patient's behavior to the home health agency.Reads to client, assists client in paying bills, scheduling appointments and making transportation arrangements as needed.Qualifications & RequirementsExcellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required.During emergencies or natural disasters, may be required to remain on duty for the duration of the event.Previous companion experience preferred; however, an individual who has managed a household and family could also be considered experienced.Highschool diploma or equivalent preferredValid state of Florida driver's license and proof of insurance.
